DSMJ Projects Abroad

Many regions in the world suffer the lack of independent media and press freedom. And professionalisation of journalism and media is a constantly ongoing challenge.

DSMJ Projects Abroad adresses these issues. By working with the media, civil society and education of journalists. More concrete we engage ourselves in the topics of Institution Building and Development, Curriculum Development, Training of Trainers programs, Training of Journalists, Media Research and Monitoring, and Project Development and Design.

We do this because we believe in the importance of strengthening the professional standards among journalists and media professionals.

In our projects we usually work together with media organisations and media professionals, universities, NGOs, and governmental bodies. Our first project goes back to the beginning of the 1990s in Mongolia. In the meantime we have been involved in projects in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and on the Balkans.

In our work we strongly depend on a large pool of experienced experts and trainers from the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
Among DSMJ's core training expertises are Photo journalism and Computer Assisted Reporting.

DSMJ's distinctive feature - international as well as national - is close-to-reality training. Based on the principles of learning by doing.
